Adjustable racing suspension kit Alfetta GTV / 6 + Alfa 75
The 4 dampers and 4 coil-over springs in this set are adjustable in height. With this set you can lower the car independent on all 4 corners and adjust as you like. front 80 - 125 kg rear 60 kg The coils at the front are added to the original torsion bars on the car to reach the necessary stiffness. You can arrive at a track day and lower the car on the fly with the easy system. Afterwards adjust the ride height again for driving on the normal roads. The effect of installing stronger springs and shocks The standard setting of springs and anti roll bars on any transaxle is set for comfort, i.e. too much comfort for performance driving. So the springs and anti roll bars are to soft for high performance driving. Under cornering there will be weight transfer due to body roll. This has a great negative effect on the geometry of the alignment of the car. Left/Right corner combinations mean a lot of roll and as a result loss of time. Pitch and squat mean the car has difficulties in breaking and also sprinting of the line. After you install bigger (read stronger) anti roll bars and you want more improvement, than you must think of springs and shocks. Originally the Alfa Transaxle was fitted with rather soft springs for a relatively high comfort level. The front has a system of torsion bars which are rather progressive. So due to a lot of suspension travel, the torsion bars beef up to respectable spring rates for street driving. For trackday or race applications you want to reduce suspension travel as much as possible. So these torsions are in fact useless since under reduced suspension travel, the rate of these springs are no more than 30kg or 75pounds. Koni and the likes Back in pre historic times (in formula one 30 years is an endless time), koni and the likes saw the first transaxle, the alfetta 4cylinder and they developed shocks on that car. From driving the car in modern times we know, they never ever adjusted the design and even after the GTV4 and later GTV6 cylinder than the 75 (Milanos) had the same koni yellow or bilstein. (btw konis are not adjustable. The system is intended to compensate for wear of the shock in time). Then the springs. For the rear there is a solution for a stronger spring. For the front options are limited to bigger bars from for example shankle. Most of the time people forget about the front spring for the convenience since there is no easy solution. The result of a car fitted with these aftermarket spings/shocks combinations is a car that is only beefed up at the rear with technology of at least 30 years ago. Our championship winning race Group A GTV6 is the proof that you do not make it with torsions alone in modern racing. The car has huge torsion bars but these are still assisted with 500 pound coilover springs. So coilovers are the key to better handling and are the way to go to get a car that is in the league of a Porsche GT3RS and BMW M3CLS in terms of handling. So with our suspension systems the car is firm but not harsh. Has incredible amounts of grip and yes, is able to drive on two wheels in the corners with the right shoes. With over 200 systems sold already, we can truly say this is the most popular system for releasing the potential of the Alfa Transaxle cars and bring it at the same level as modern reference sportscars.

Alfa Romeo Alfetta – Sportiness with Backbone
With the Alfetta, introduced in 1972, Alfa Romeo launched a sedan that set new standards in driving dynamics. Named after the legendary Tipo 159 “Alfetta” Grand Prix car of the 1950s, it was more than a tribute – it was a technical reboot.
Its core was the revolutionary transaxle concept: engine in the front, clutch, gearbox, and differential at the rear – for perfect weight distribution. Add independent suspension all around and disc brakes on all four wheels – the result was a sedan that drove like a sports car.
The body was clean and modern, with a low beltline, wide grille, and straight profile – minimalistic yet full of Italian flair. Under the hood were trusted twin-cam engines, initially 1.6 and 1.8 liters, later as the Alfetta 2000 with 2 liters and Bosch fuel injection. Hallmarks: sonorous tone, lively response, and sporty torque.
Inside, the layout was functional and driver-oriented – low-set gauges, broad seats, sporty steering wheel. The Alfetta wasn’t made for show – it was built for enthusiastic drivers who valued engineering.
In 1981, the facelifted Series 2 brought a revised front end, improved interior, and more comfort. Whether as a diesel, Alfa 6 luxury version, or rare Quadrifoglio Oro, the Alfetta remained versatile.
Today it’s an insider tip among classics – technically demanding, stylistically clear, and full of Alfa character. Driving an Alfetta means experiencing structured sportiness – and a touch of motorsport on your commute.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta (Tipo 116) – The Edgy Sister with Bite
Launched in 1977, the new Giulietta was a more compact alternative to the Alfetta, sharing its technical base but presenting a distinctive look. With its sharp-edged body and steeply sloped rear, it appeared almost avant-garde – clean, Italian, bold.
Technically, it used the Alfetta’s transaxle layout: engine in the front, gearbox and differential at the rear, linked by a rigid driveshaft – for ideal balance. Add a refined suspension, precise steering, and proven twin-cam engines from 1.3 to 2.0 liters.
Nimble in the city, agile on country roads, confident on the motorway – the Giulietta was a true driver’s car. Especially sporty were the 1.8 and 2.0 versions, with up to 130 hp, crisp sound, and bold character. The cabin: functional, driver-focused, with sporty touches – a cockpit for connoisseurs.
In 1983, a mild facelift added integrated bumpers and a revised front. The Giulietta stayed true to itself – no mainstream, pure Alfa spirit.
Today it’s a rare gem, often overlooked but technically fascinating. As the last compact sedan with transaxle technology, it embodies the Alfa philosophy in its purest form: bold design, dynamic handling, Italian soul.
